Expertise
Maxey Moverley provides component-level repair and refurbishment for complex electronic units and systems. Every item is carefully diagnosed, repaired, and tested within dedicated specialist cells using advanced diagnostic equipment and proven engineering methods.
By restoring rather than replacing, we help organisations avoid costly obsolescence traps, extend the service life of their technology, save money, and reduce carbon emissions linked to new manufacture.
As the largest return-to-base repair centres for our served sectors, we have delivered reliable, traceable results for over 25 years. Keeping critical systems performing at their best, saving both cost and carbon with every repair.
We specialise in the repair and refurbishment of electronic assemblies, restoring equipment to specification and extending its working life.
Our role is to provide a dependable alternative to replacement, a service built on precision engineering, clear pricing, and transparent processes.
Repairing to component level also helps customers avoid obsolescence traps, where the manufacturer has withdrawn support to force you to buy new, even though the technology could still perform perfectly with the right repair.

Our repair service includes:
- Fixed pricing with no hidden extras – clear, agreed costs before work begins.
- No repair, no fee – if a unit cannot be repaired, you pay nothing.
- Full functional testing – every repair is verified against operating specification using dedicated diagnostic and load-test equipment.
- 12-month warranty – all repaired and refurbished units are supplied with a full one-year warranty as standard.
- Complete traceability – each item is assigned a QR code, tracked, and visible through our online system from receipt to dispatch.
- New protective packaging – all items are returned in high-quality, purpose-designed packaging to ensure safe delivery and professional presentation.
Each repair combines component-level diagnostics with precise rework techniques to restore original functionality and reliability. The result is longer equipment life, controlled operating costs, and measurable reductions in carbon emissions by avoiding premature replacement.

Our services include:
- Reverse logistics & returns processing – complete management of returned units for more than 1,000 field engineers, combining warranty processing, defective unit handling, WEEE disposal, restocking and full reporting and online traceability.
- Stock & inventory management – over 10,000 units held for call-off via our online portal next-day dispatch across the UK, encompassing repaired stock, defective units awaiting repair, new goods and spare parts.
- Spare parts sourcing & second-user equipment – specialist sourcing of hard-to-find parts and refurbished units not available on the open market to ensure continuity of service when new equipment is not feasible.
- On-site support services – nationwide field engineers covering calibration, preventive maintenance, breakdown support and installation for systems such as refrigeration control and gas detection.
- Technical Helpline – staffed by experienced engineers, providing rapid diagnosis assistance, fault-triage and service advice to keep your systems moving
These services are built on the same rigorous quality, traceability and responsiveness found across our repair operations. The result: fewer operational bottlenecks, lower costs and a reliable infrastructure to support your installed systems.
Research & Development
Our market-leading research and development (R&D) programme keeps Maxey Moverley at the forefront of rapidly evolving electronics technology. Continuous investment in R&D underpins our long-term technical leadership and ensures that our repair capability evolves in line with customer needs and new product innovation.
Importantly, R&D activity is an internal investment – development work is never charged to individual repair jobs.
Our R&D programme includes:
- Dedicated R&D teams working with manufacturers to continually update repair solutions and accommodate new product introductions.
- Bespoke repair and test instructions for all volume product lines, ensuring repair quality and consistency across every output.
- Reverse-engineered repair solutions for obsolete and unsupported products, providing continuity when manufacturer-approved options are unavailable.
- Comprehensive repair documentation including installation instructions, service diagrams, part number sourcing, and critical hardware, firmware, and software updates.
At the core of our R&D operation is a unique repair database that captures detailed failure analysis from across thousands of units. This insight allows our engineers to identify recurring faults, anticipate component failures, and apply preventative refurbishment as part of the standard repair process – improving reliability, extending equipment life, and enhancing overall system uptime.
